Annual much-branched prostrate herb very similar to S. media but the leaves are usually all petiolate and less than 7 mm long, the sepals are 2-3.5 mm long, the petals are absent or vestigial, the stamens are 1-3 and the seeds 0.6-1.0 mm in diam.
