Leaves sessile or shortly petiolate, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, 2--3 cm × 4--10 mm, abaxially and marginally glabrous or sparsely hairy, apex acute. Flowers solitary, rarely 2, terminal, ca. 8 mm in diam.; bracts absent. Pedicel 2--3 cm, pubescent. Sepals ovate-lanceolate, margin membranous, ciliate, apex acuminate. Petals oblong-cuneate, ca. 2 × as long as sepals, apex retuse. Filaments glabrous; anthers black. Capsule shorter than persistent sepals. Seeds usually 3, small, tuberculate.
