Leaves all petiolate; lamina up to 4·5 × 3 cm., ovate, apex acute and apiculate or shortly acuminate, rounded or slightly cuneate at the base, with scattered and often glandular hairs on both sides, midrib conspicuous, lateral nerves obscure but anastomosing close to the margins and producing a submarginal nerve, petiole up to c. 2 (3) cm. long, slightly amplexicaul and connate at the base, glandular-hirsute.
Weak, procumbent or ascending herb, sometimes rooting at the nodes; stems with scattered hairs in the upper internodes, often glabrous in the lower internodes or with hairs retained in the stem furrows.
Inflorescences lax, terminal, densely glandular-pubescent; bracts c. 3·5 × 1 mm., lanceolate, glandular-pubescent; pedicels short at first but elongating to c. 8 mm. long.
Petals 5, white, somewhat rhombic, bifid c. 1/3 of the way down, from slightly shorter to 1 1/2 times the length of the sepals.
Sepals 5, 4·5–6 × 1·5–2 mm., lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute or shortly acuminate, glandular outside.
Seeds (often only one developing to maturity) brown, c. 3 mm. in diam., discoid; testa lightly striate.
Stamens usually 10 but sometimes fewer by reduction, filaments c. 3 mm. long, swollen at the base.
Capsule globose, slightly shorter than the persistent sepals, opening at the apex by 6 valves.
Ovary ovoid, c. 3-ovulate; styles 3, c. 1·5 mm. long, slender.
