Characteristics

Annual herb to 50 cm tall, erect, slender, glabrous or sparsely hairy; hairs at base of stems, simple, short and crinkled. Leaves 1–4 cm long, 1–3 mm wide, rarely larger; lower leaves dentate, rarely pinnatifid; upper leaves entire, often filiform. Sepals 3.5–4.5 mm long, laterals saccate. Petals 10–15 mm long, bright yellow-orange; claw linear; lamina oblong, narrowed to acuminate apex. Stigma bilobed. Silicula 4.5–6 mm long, ellipsoidal and slightly compressed or terete; pedicels stout, spreading, to 4 mm long. Seeds 1 mm long, ovoid, compressed, 6–10 per locule.
