Characteristics

Annual or biennial herb to 50 cm, decumbent to erect, sparsely hairy with sessile bifid hairs. Basal leaves entire or remotely dentate to pinnatifid, to 6 cm long; cauline leaves linear to narrowly elliptic, to 9 cm long, entire or dentate. Petals 15–40 mm long; claw short expanding to elliptic lamina and produced into a long, slender and often twisted apex, yellow-green or brown. Stigma capitate, depressed. Silicula obovoid, 6–10, rarely 13, mm long, sometimes slightly compressed; pedicels horizontal to recurved, 7–12, rarely 17, mm long. Seeds reniform, 1.5–2 mm long, 6–12 per locule.
