Characteristics

Annual or perennial herb, parasite, 0.07-0.60 m high; grey-green-black; stem erect, simple, pubescent. Leaves erect, appressed, linear to lanceolate, scabrid, margins ciliate. Inflorescence a dense, terminal spike, elongating in fruits. Bracts imbricate, lanceolate, margins ciliate-pubescent. Calyx pubescent; tube subulate at apex, hyaline between nerves. Corolla pink or violet; tube angled just below lobes, narrow, pubescent. Flowering time July-May.
