Characteristics

Shrub or small tree (2–)3–6 m. tall, with mostly rather thick gnarled often lichen-covered grey branchlets; leafing shoots with congested nodes, the youngest parts with dense ± ferruginous curled hairs.. Leaf-blades ovate-oblong, 3.3–8 cm. long, 2.2–6.5 cm. wide, very shortly acuminate to a blunt apex, rounded at the base, drying slightly discolorous, sparsely hairy above and on the venation beneath, also with tuft-domatia in some of the nerve-axils beneath; petiole 2–3 mm. long, hairy; stipules 4–7 mm. long, with appendage 2–3 mm. long, densely hairy.. Pedicels 0.8–2.5 cm. long, shortly hairy.. Calyx-tube 2.5 mm. long, glabrous.. Corolla yellow, glabrous outside and inside; tube 2.5 cm. long, 0.7 cm. wide near apex, widening to 1–1.5 cm. near the base; lobes 7–8(–10) mm. long, 3.5–4(–5) mm. wide..
