Characteristics

Dwarf shrub, up to 0.6 m high. Stems erect, ascending, smooth with raised, decurrent lines from leaf bases. Leaves petiolate; blade narrowly or narrowly linear-ovate, 5-12 x 1-3 mm or ovate, oblong, almost rotund, 5-15 x 3-7 mm, apex obtuse, base rounded, abruptly narrowed to petiole; petioles 2-3 mm long. Flowers: axillary; solitary or in groups of 2 or 3; pedicels slender, as long as or longer than subtending leaves; perianth segments broadly ovate, apices acute, inner surfaces bright yellow; Dec.-Feb. Fruit: pendulous, 6-15 x 6-15 mm, apex cordate-indented, wings thin, smooth.
