Characteristics

Leaf 60–250 × 4–13 mm, linear, fleshy, dark green, base purplish. Flower stem 150–500 × 2–3.5 mm, 1–6-flowered. Sterile bracts usually 2. Flowers 15–35 mm across, interior deep purplish blue with darker longitudinal veins, exterior brownish purple. Sepals and petals 7–15 × 5–8 mm, concave, labellum widest. Column 4.5–6.5 × 2.4–3.5 mm, broadly winged, purplish; post-anther lobe slightly hooding anther, 1–2.5 × 1–2.5 mm, reddish brown to black, apex rough, yellow or pink; column arms parallel, 1–2 mm long, pink or brown with cream to yellow apex, shallowly toothed or lobed. Anther near column apex.
