Leaf 150–500 × 5–10 mm, linear, thin-textured, dark green, base purplish. Flower stem 200–600 × 1.5–3 mm, 2–10-flowered. Sterile bracts usually 3. Flowers 18–27 mm across, purplish blue. Sepals and petals 8–15 × 3–6 mm. Column 4.5–6 × 2.2–3.2 mm, pale blue or pinkish; post-anther lobe 3–4 × 1.5–2.2 mm, brownish with yellow apex, gently curved, hooded, deeply notched; column arms converging, 1–1.5 mm long, curved upwards; hair-tufts mop-like, white, hairs 0.9–1.2 mm long, embracing front of post-anther lobe.
