Leaf 200–450 × 8–15 mm, flat, dark green, base purplish. Flower stem 300–800 × 2–7 mm, 5–30-flowered. Sterile bracts usually 2, large. Flowers 16–30 mm across, pale blue, externally greenish. Sepals and petals 6–14 × 3–7 mm. Column 5–6.5 × 2.5–3.5 mm, white or greenish; post-anther lobe 2.5–3.5 × 1.3–2 mm, reddish brown to brown with yellow apex, curved through 90º, tubular, not inflated, notched; column arms 1.2–1.7 mm long, bent sharply upwards; hair-tufts toothbrush-like, white, hairs 0.8–1.2 mm long, covering apex of post-anther lobe.
