Leaf 120–220 × 3–6 mm, fleshy, green, base purplish. Flower stem 150–300 × 1–1.5 mm, usually reddish, 1–3-flowered. Sterile bract usually 1. Flowers 12–18 mm across, blue. Sepals and petals 5–9 × 2.5–5 mm. Column 4–5 × 2–2.5 mm, blue; post-anther lobe 1.5–2 × 1.2–1.6 mm, dark blue, mauve or purple, gently curved, tubular, slightly inflated, hooded, narrowly notched; column arms converging, 0.7–0.9 mm long, sharply curved upwards; hair-tufts dense, nearly globose, white, hairs 0.4–0.6 mm long, covering apex of post-anther lobe.
