Leaf terete or channelled, 50–70 × 2–3 mm. Flower stem straight or slightly flexuose, wiry, 150–300 × 1–2 mm, 2–6-flowered. Sterile bracts 1 or 2. Flowers 14–20 mm across, yellow, exterior of sepals often with reddish tinge. Sepals and petals 7–11 × 4–5 mm. Column 4–5 × 2.5 mm, yellow, humped at back; post-anther lobe short, hooding base of anther, brownish, with a few short dorsal papillae; column arms short, triangular, dark red-brown. Anther orange, protruding between column arms, roughened.
