Characteristics

Leaf 100–250 × 5–9 mm, channelled, ribbed, dark green, base reddish. Flower stem 150–350 × 2–4 mm, 2–10-flowered. Sterile bracts 2 or 3. Flowers 20–25 mm across, bluish purple to purple, unspotted. Sepals and petals 12–17 × 5–8 mm (labellum narrowest). Column 4.5–5.5 × 2.6–3 mm, bluish; post-anther lobe short, not hooded, yellow with dark blue band, dorsal surface with several rows of long, finger-like papillae; column arms 1.5–2 mm long, porrect to obliquely erect; hair-tufts mop-like, dense, white, with hairs to 1 mm long.
