Leaf 100–250 × 10–20 mm, thick, leathery, ribbed, margins and midrib thick. Flower stem 300–600 × 4–8 mm, pale green, 5–25-flowered. Sterile bracts usually 2. Flowers 30–40 mm across, yellow with dark brown dots and small blotches. Sepals and petals 16–20 × 5–7 mm. Column 8–10 × 4–5 mm, cream to yellow, often with purplish spots; post-anther lobe erect, dome-like, hooding anther, often with yellow to orange, pimply apex, deeply notched, dorsal surface roughened or warty; column arms 1–1.5 mm long, each ending in a dense, rounded, yellow, papillate mass. Anther in middle of column.
