Leaf 100–300 × 4–12 mm, ribbed, dark green, base purplish. Flower stem 100–400 × 1–2.7 mm, 2–9-flowered. Sterile bract usually 1. Flowers 15–25 mm across, pale blue, mauve, purplish or white. Sepals and petals 6–13 × 2.5–5 mm, concave. Column 4–5 × 1.8–2.5 mm, white to pale blue; post-anther lobe 2–2.5 × 1–1.5 mm, reddish brown with yellow apex, gently curved, tubular, not inflated, hooded, deeply notched; column arms 1.2–1.5 mm long, curved gently upwards; hair-tufts toothbrush-like, white, hairs 0.5 mm long, gland-tipped.
