Leaf 100–300 × 5–10 mm, fleshy, dark green, base purplish. Flower stem 300–500 × 1.5–3 mm, 1–6-flowered. Sterile bracts usually 2. Flowers 15–35 mm across, blue with indistinct darker veins. Sepals and petals 8–17 × 3–8 mm. Column 5–6.5 × 2.5–3.5 mm, pale blue; post-anther lobe 2.5–3.5 × 2–2.5 mm, dark brown with yellow apex, tubular, inflated, hooded, notched; column arms converging, 1.5–2 mm long, curved gently upwards; hair-tufts dense, toothbrush-like, creamy yellow, hairs 1.2–1.8 mm long.
