Characteristics

Leaf 50–200 × 10–30 mm, pale green. Flower stem 140–450 × 2–3 mm, green, 2–10-flowered. Sterile bracts usually 2. Flowers often crowded, 40–55 mm across, internally reddish brown to brownish orange with central yellow bands, externally greenish brown. Sepals and petals 13–26 × 3.5–8 mm, labellum narrowest. Column 6–8 × 4.5–7 mm, base yellow, apex orange, very broadly winged, wings spreading like mantle, margins deeply and stiffly fringed (teeth to 2 mm long); dorsal part of post-anther lobe with dense mass of orange papillae; supra-anther lobe 2–3 mm long, rod-like, orange, with swollen warty apex; lateral lobes 1–2.7 mm long, finger-like, orange. Anther with curved beak-like appendage 2.5–3 mm long.
