Epiphytic shrub ca. 5 dm tall; stems subterete or bluntly angled, minutely striate but becoming smooth, glaucous, pale reddish brown when dry, hispid-ulous with translucent trichomes 0.2-0.3 mm long, glabrous with age. Leaves distichous, ovate, (2.5-)3-4.5 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm wide, basally broadly rounded or subtruncate, apically short acuminate, apiculate, entire, obscurely short pilose above, especially near the margins, glabrous beneath, pale green above, brown beneath when dry but with a pale greenish brown area 1 mm broad along the entire margin; venation 3(-5)-plinerved, the nerves obscure but slightly im-pressed above, only the midrib slightly raised beneath; petiole subterete, flat-tened above, 2-3 mm long and 1 mm diameter, hispidulous with translucent trichomes 0.2-0.3 mm long. Inflorescence of axillary, solitary flowers, bracts 2-4, minute, basal; floral bract ovate, ciliate, 0.3-0.5 mm long; pedicels angled, striate, glaucous, hispidulous, 1.5-2.5 mm long; bracteoles awl-shaped, ciliate, ca. 0.5 mm long, supramedial. Flowers with the hypanthium glaucous, sparsely hispidulous with translucent hairs ca. 0.2 mm long, the tube obconic, bluntly 5-angled, 2-3 mm long; calyx limb 1.5-1.7 mm long including the apiculate lobes; corolla urceolate, strongly constricted at the throat, 5-5.5 mm long, ca. 2.2 mm diameter near the base, glabrous below, the upper part of the throat and the lobes hispidulous, the lobes ca. 0.5 mm long; stamens 10, 2.5 mm long, the filaments alternately 1.5 and 2 mm long, glabrous, the anther 1-1.2 mm long in-serted near the base, the tubules equaling the thecae; style ca. 3.5 mm long, glabrous. Berry ca. 5 mm in diameter.
