Shrub, glabrous.. Leaves simple; blade obovate, oblanceolate or broadly elliptic, 15–24 cm. long, 8–11 cm. wide, shortly and broadly acuminate at the apex, narrowed to the base; petiole up to 2.2 cm. long, ventrally ribbed.. Inflorescence a terminal dense many-flowered corymbose raceme; pedicels up to 8 mm. long, bracteate.. Buds up to 6 mm. in diameter prior to rupture.. Receptacle cylindrical, up to 8 mm. long.. Stamens 11–12 mm. long, crisped and tangled; anthers 1–1.5 mm. long.. Ovary oblong, 3 mm. long.. Fruits unknown.
