Characteristics

Plants forming coarse, straggly hanging clumps with numerous tangled roots. Stems 100–250 mm long, sparsely branched, flattened. Leaves 5–10, 80–150 × 30–40 mm, well-spaced, stiff, leathery, often yellowish green. Racemes 100–250 mm long, stiff, wiry, apex flattened with floral bracts in 2 ranks. Flowers 30–40 × 40–60 mm, cream with an orange and white labellum, 1–3 open at once. Sepals and petals broadest at base then tapered, widely spreading. Dorsal sepal 30–35 × 3 mm. Lateral sepals 30–35 × 3–4 mm. Petals 25–30 × 1.5–2 mm. Labellum c. 15 × 9 mm; lateral lobes c. 3 × 6 mm, erect; midlobe thick, fleshy, tapered; spur c. 5 mm long, with few short hairs.
