Characteristics

Scape 20-40 cm tall. Inflorescence a 1-sided, 3-7-flowered, woolly condensed cyme with an erect, dorsal leaf-like bract; pedicels or branches ±concealed among bracts and indumentum. Flowers strongly fragrant. Perianth lobes ±ovate or triangular, strongly reflexed, 3-7.5 mm long, 1.5-3.3 mm wide, length : maximum width ratio 1.7-2.3, greenish; upper surface bearded near apex, elsewhere glabrous or sparsely hairy; lower surface woolly. Filament appendage large, fleshy, deeply grooved on back, much exceeding anthers, forming a conspicuous yellow corona-like structure.
