Characteristics

Perennial, caespitose, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.06 m high, taproot thickened at top thinning to bottom. Leaves glaucous-grey, cylindrical, crowded, imbricate, bladder cells elongate, upper end terminating in a point, lower end obtuse, diadem radiating, cup-cells yellow-orange, bristles white. Flowers solitary, reddish. Capsules 5-locular.
