Characteristics

Leaves with an apical diadem of coloured, sclerotinized bristles. Erect to spreading shrublet to 12 cm, with tuberous roots, branches with papillate internodes. Leaves brown, pubescent, with apical hairs resembling a diadem only in colour and size, 15-25 x 2-3 mm. Flowers solitary, white, with filamentous staminodes. Fruits 5-locular.
