Characteristics

Plants often consisting of a single erect to semi-pendulous growth. Roots thick, cord-like. Stems 100–500 mm long, thick, flattened, branching from base. Leaves numerous, 70–120 × 2–25 mm, drooping, thick, leathery, dark glossy green to yellowish green, apex unequally notched. Racemes 2–6-flowered. Flowers 10–12 × 10–12 mm, creamy yellow with red-brown blotches. Sepals and petals widely spreading, thin-textured. Dorsal sepal c. 6.5 × 2 mm. Lateral sepals c. 7 × 3 mm, with rounded basal lobe. Petals c. 6 × 2 mm. Labellum c. 5 × 2.5 mm; lateral lobes erect, fleshy, joined to column base (no column foot); midlobe c. 2.5 mm long, fleshy, hairy, with spur c. 1.5 mm long.
