Characteristics

Spikelets 6–12-flowered, 8.5–16 mm long, narrowly oblong, slightly overlapping; glumes 1-nerved, the inferior 2.3–3.3 mm long, lanceolate-oblong, asymmetric, subacute, the superior 3.1–3.7 mm long, elliptic-oblong, slightly emarginate and mucronate; callus appressed-villous laterally, barbate in front at the base of the rhachilla internode; lemmas 3–3.6 mm long, elliptic to elliptic-ovate, dorsally rounded, bluntly 2-toothed and awned from between the teeth, the lateral nerves not or only slightly excurrent; awn 1.6–2.6 mm long; anthers 3, 1.3–1.7 mm long.
