Panicle broadly ovate, 15–45 cm. long, lax, the spikelets paired on the ends of flexuous branches; pedicels slender, 1–4 cm. long.. Spikelets narrowly lanceolate, 20–27 mm. long, brown, glabrous; lower glume ovate-elliptic, 1/3 as long as the spikelet, abruptly acuminate; upper glume narrowly lanceolate, as long as the spikelet; upper lemma 11–12 mm. long, sparsely pubescent, acutely bilobed (lobes 3–4 mm. long); awn 5–10 cm. long; callus 3 mm. long, rufously pubescent.. Caryopsis glabrous.
