Characteristics

Very similar to T. angolensis but differs in that it is an annual and strictly erect herb up to c. 60 cm. tall with patent simple hairs on the stems, with its sepals quite glabrous towards the base and with black capsules whose aculei are only very sparsely pubescent or glabrescent and 3 mm. long rather than 1–5·2 mm. long.
