Characteristics

Rhizomatous herb; rhizome tuberous, creeping, c. 2 cm diam. Leaves 3 together; petiole c. 20 cm long, sheathing in lower 1/2; blade hastosagittate, with posterior lobes ±equalling anterior; anterior lobe narrowly ovate, c. 7–8.5 × 6 cm; posterior lobes c. 6–8.5 × 0.9–3.4 cm. Inflorescence: peduncle c. 11 cm long; spathe 9.5 cm long, purple; lower spathe ovoid, c. 2 cm long; limb narrowly ovate, 7 × 3.5 cm; spadix 6.5 cm long; female zone c. 5 mm long; sterile interstice 1.6 cm long with crowded filiform neuter organs in lower 0.6 cm and scattered shorter ones in the rest; male zone slender, 1.5 × 0.2 cm; appendix sessile, cylindric, 2.5 × 0.2 cm long. Infructescence unknown.
