Cultivation

Northern highbush. Selected at the Horticultural Res. Inst., Victorian Dept. of Agriculture, Knoxfield, Victoria, Australia. Tested as Knoxfield 11A and released in 1977. Origin: in Australia from seed obtained by open pollination of Lateblue at Michigan State Univ. Berry: large; medium blue; very firm; flavor good; scar small and dry; ripens late, between Bluecrop and Lateblue in Victoria; ships and stores well. Tree: upright; vigorous; highly productive; easy to propagate by softwood and hardwood cuttings. As of 1966, Brigitta was the most important blueberry variety developed in Australia. Has been introduced into the U.S. and Chile. Fruit:
