Tree: moderately vigorous stolon production; uprights moderate coarseness; early flowering phenology, 1-2 d before Stevens; appears less fruit-rot susceptible than Ben Lear. Fruit: large, over 2 g in NJ, WI; shiny with bloom around calyx end, otherwise little to no bloom; elliptic, with rounded to slightly pointed stem end, and slightly protruding calyx; total anthocyanins typically 60% higher than Stevens, lower titratable acidity than Stevens.
