A small shrub. The leaves are alternate and broadly oval. They are wedge shaped at the base. They have small teeth. The flowering shoots are in groups in the axils of branches. The fruit are red berries.
Leaves alternate, broad ovate, acute, cuneate at the base, minutely glandular–dentate, glabrous, 30–45 mm. long, 20–27 mm. broad; petioles 3·0–3·5 mm. long, glabrous.
Pedicels 3–3·5 mm. long in flower, glabrous, bearing two opposite bracteoles resembling the bracts at 2/3–3/4 of their length from the base.
Corolla 5–lobed, yellow to greenish white, obconical, c. 8 mm. long, 4–6 mm. broad, lobes imbricate, obtuse, 2·5–4 mm. long, sinuses acute.
Flowers subtended by small scale–like bracts c. 2 mm. long and 2 mm. broad, with acute apices and ciliate margins.
Sepals 5, free, inserted at the top of the ovary, broadly triangular, glabrous, c. 0·5 mm. long, 1·5 mm. broad.
Inflorescence consisting of axillary racemes; peduncles glabrous, 3–5–flowered.
Style exserted, 8·5–10 mm. long, not swollen above, shed in fruit.
Ovary glabrous, somewhat conical in flower.
A small shrub with glabrous branchlets.
Fruit a red berry.
