Characteristics

Leaves 3-foliolate, opposite or subopposite; petiole 1–2·5 cm. long, grooved above, sometimes flattened towards the apex; leaflets sessile or subsessile; lamina 2·5–7·5 × 1·4–3·5 cm., coriaceous, obovate or elliptic, densely dotted with very minute pellucid glands, rounded at the apex, cuneate at the base.

Male flowers: stamens 8, as long as the petals, flattened at the base, those opposite the petals shorter; ovary vestigial.

Sepals united into a very small calyx 0·2 mm. long.
