Characteristics

Leaves alternate, ( 1 ) 3-foliolate; petiole 1–4·5 cm. long, terete, narrowly grooved above; leaflets sessile; lamina 6·5–11·5 × 1·9–3 cm., drooping, flaccid, becoming convolute in drying, narrowly elliptic, densely dotted with pellucid glands, acuminate to somewhat obtuse at the apex, cuneate at the base; nerves and veins very numerous.

Male flowers in bud only: sepals 4, united into a cupuliform calyx with shallow imbricate lobes; petals 4, slightly imbricate; stamens (7) 8; filaments flattened at the base, those opposite the petals shorter; anthers 2-lobed at the base; vestigial ovary glabrous, with 2 styles.
Inflorescence of axillary panicles up to 5 cm. long, branched from the base; flowers usually clustered; pedicels 1–4 mm. long.
Female flowers and fruit not seen.
