Characteristics

Procumbent or erect herb, 0.1–0.5 m high, much-branched from base; branches laterally flattened to quadrangular, sparsely hairy. Leaves petiolate, triangular or ovate-cuneate in outline, 1-or 2-pinnatifid or-pinnatisect, 2–4 cm long, 1.5–2.5 cm wide, with lobes bluntly toothed. Inflorescence terminal, with spikes slender; flowers not crowded, tend not to overlap each other; bracts c. 1 mm long, usually half as long as calyx. Calyx 4-toothed, c. 3 mm long. Corolla lilac, c. 1.5 times as long as calyx; tube c. 1.5–2 mm long. Mericarps 2–2.5 mm long.
