Characteristics

Stems stiffly erect, red or green, 100–200 x 4–5mm. Leaves 4–6, spreading widely, shortly petiolate, oblong-lanceolate, 20–60 x 10–19mm, dark green with prominent white central band, glabrous, margins wavy. Flower stem c.3  long, with white hairs, 10–20-flowered. Bracts lanceolate, 4–  long, green to brown, margins with white hairs. Ovaries hairy, turgid. Flowers crowded in dense spike, scarcely opening, upper flowers nearly vertical, c.5 x 3mm, sepals green, petals and labellum white, ageing to yellow or brown. Dorsal sepal c. 5 x 2mm, with brown markings. Lateral sepals c.5 x 2mm. Petals c.3 x   long, short basal stalk. Labellum oblong, c.3 x 1.2mm, fleshy, entire; margins incurved, fleshy; midlobe keeled. Spur c.  long, greenish, with two globular stalked glands, each on stalk c.1.  long.
