Characteristics

Plant 3.5-30 cm tall. Leaves 3, well separated; lowest leaf filiform to linear, usually 1-2.5 mm wide, not basally dilated; middle leaf dilated basally, upper portion tapering; upper leaf dilated with short to long tapering apex. Inflorescence open; flowers 1-6, all bisexual, or lower bisexual and upper male, occasionally all male. Perianth 8-10 mm long; tepals 6, connate for less than a tenth of length, white; nectaries 2 per tepal c. 1/3 from base, shelf-like marginal thickenings (sometimes pouch-like when dried) with all margins except distal one distinct and raised, pink. Stamens 1/2-1/3 as long as perianth; anthers 1.5-2 mm long, red or purple. Styles free.
