Characteristics

Corm globose-ovoid, 1-1.5 cm long and wide, with firm black tunics. Neck distinct, 4-8 cm long. Stem above ground 4-18 cm high. Leaves 3, erecto-patent-spreading or recurved, linear-lanceolate; lower 2 leaves 5-17 cm long, 0.7-1 cm wide basally, attenuate and gradually tapering to the apex, uppermost leaf shorter, 1.5-5(-10) cm long, more curved and apically somewhat abruptly tapered to an almost mucronate tip. Spike ovoid-oblong-cylindrical with rounded top, 1.5-5 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, dense and many-flowered. Perianth campanulate, 7-10 mm in diam., pink. Tube cylindrical-oblong, 2-5 mm long, 2-4 mm wide. Segments erecto-patent, narrowly oblong, 2.5-4 mm long, 0.7-1.2 mm wide, often somewhat dissimilar in size, obtuse, pink with somewhat darker margins, without nectary spots or markings; nectary an indistinct groove above the filament base or absent. Filaments 3-4 mm long, equalling the perianth segments in length, subulate. Anthers oblong, 0.8-1 mm long, 0.5-0.7 mm wide, yellowish. Ovary (excl. styles) ellipsoid-oblong, 2-4 mm long; free styles subulate-filiform, 3.5-6 mm long. Capsule and seeds unknown.
