Characteristics

Corm ovoid, ca. 1 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, with firm black tunics. Neck distinct, 2-6 cm long, several-layered. Stem above ground 1-5 cm high. Leaves 3, spreading-recurved, lanceolate, 1-3.5 cm long, 3-8 mm wide basally, channelled, attenuate-acuminate; uppermost leaf smaller and often more straight. Spike 1-7-flowered, up to 2 cm long, 0.8-1.2 cm wide. Perianth widely campanulate, soon stellately spreading, 0.8-1.2 cm in diam., white, without a distinct tube. Segments connate for ca. 0.5-1 mm only, 4.5-5.5 mm long, with a basal claw. Claw oblong-narrowly oblong, 1-1.5 mm long, 0.6-0.8 mm wide. Blade of segment ovate-narrowly ovate, 3-4.5 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, faintly 3-veined, with numerous elongated small dots, obtuse. Nectary a narrowly reniform distinct ridge at the junction between claw and blade, distally rounded, forming a central hollow. Filaments inserted in the nectary groove, 2-3 mm long. Anthers elliptic-oblong, ca. 1 mm long, 0.6-0.8 mm wide. Ovary rounded, subtriquetrous, excl. styles 2-3 mm long and wide; free styles set off from the ovary, subulate-filiform, somewhat curved, 1.5-2 mm long, light-coloured. Capsules and seeds unknown.
