Characteristics

Plants with distinct stem, 5-20 cm long, branched. Leaves 15-20 cm long and 3-9 mm wide, persistent, V-shaped with midvein and margins thickened and serrate, glandular spots on upper surface. Flowers solitary on 12-15-cm-long peduncle covered with black capitate glands. Tepals 20-25 mm long, white, the outer externally often pale pink and with glands. Stamens six, filaments 1-2 mm long, anthers 8-10 mm long. Style about 4-6 mm long, stigma 6-10 mm long. Ovary about 4 mm long and 5 mm in diameter, subglobose, densely covered with glands.
