Branched shrub or small tree 1–4.5(–?6) m. tall, with greyish-white bark; young branchlets reddish-brown, lenticellate, at first densely covered withspreading greyish hairs, later glabrescent.. Leaf-blades elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, 0.8–6 cm. long, 0.5–2.5 cm. wide, obtuse, acute or slightly acuminate at the apex, rounded at the base, thin, glabrous above, adpressed silky pilose beneath; venation not conspicuous; petioles slender, 2.5–4 mm. long, pilose.. Flowers solitary, pendent; pedicels 2–3 mm. long, pubescent; bracteole pubescent, ? ± 1.5 mm. long.. Sepals ovate-triangular, 2.5 mm. long, 2.5–3.5 mm. wide, pubescent outside.. Petals grey-green, linear-lanceolate, widened at the base; outer 1–1.1 cm. long, 2 mm. wide above and 4 mm. wide at base; inner smaller, 7–8 mm. long, 1 mm. wide above, 3.5 mm. wide at the base; all silky outside with adpressed pale ferruginous hairs..
