Perennial herb, 100-800 mm high. Stem solitary, many branched from base, erect. Leaves with blade narrowly ovate, 73-200 x 15-45 mm, apex attenuate, base obtuse, margins undulate, slightly thickened and revolute, glabrous. Flowers: pedunculate, 15-21-flowered, lateral and terminal, globose inflorescences, 1-5 per stem; pericarp smooth, glabrous with a few short upwardly recurving spines; corona lobes fleshy; corolla lobes erect or suberect, glabrous outside, densely white-pubescent at recurved tips on inner face; corolla cream-coloured or yellow-green tipped with brown or maroon; Nov.-Jan. Fruit a follicle.
