Characteristics

Perennial herb, 0.5-1.8 m high. Stems 1-9, erect. Leaves with blade ovate or narrowly ovate, 82-270 x 15-70 mm, margins undulate, pubescent. Flowers: in pedunculate, 8-35-flowered, lateral and terminal, globose inflorescences, up to 72 mm wide, 4-13 per stem; pericarp with dense filiform processes; corona dull white, tinged with purple, lobes fleshy; corolla lobes erect or suberect pubescent outside, densely white-pubescent at recurved tips on inner face, dull green; Oct.-Apr. Fruit a follicle.
