Annual herb, primary stem c. 80-200 mm tall, soon branching from the base and sparingly so above, branches sharply ascending, glandular-puberulous, hairs up to 0.15 mm long, these hairs disappearing towards the base of each stem and there replaced by retrorse eglandular hairs up to 0.25 mm long, distantly leafy, often with axillary leaf tufts (incipient branches). Leaves: radical with blade c. 6-20 x 3-10 mm, elliptic tapering to a broad flat petiolar part c. 4-15 mm long (roughly equalling to half as long as blade), margins entire to sparsely toothed, they and the upper surface with scattered eglandular hairs up to 1-2 mm long, scattered minute sessile glands as well, lower surface glabrous; cauline leaves c. 4-14 x 1-2.8 mm, elliptic, briefly narrowed to the base, otherwise as the radical leaves. Bracts adnate nearly to apex of calyx, c. 10-15 x 1.2-2.5 mm, oblong, entire or rarely with a tooth, coarse eglandular hairs up to 1 mm long on margins and tip of inner face or these hairs wanting, sparsely glandular-puberulous outside. Calyx c. 5-10 mm long, lips c. 1.5 mm long, posticous lobes c. 1 x 1 mm, margins shortly pubescent with eglandular hairs, glandular-puberulous elsewhere but especially on the ribs. Corolla tube c. 23-30 mm long (throat c. 3-3.5 mm in diam.), curved just below the apex, minutely and sparsely glandular on upper part of tube and outside of lobes, limb zygomorphic, anticous lip c. 7.5-8 x 1.5-2 mm, narrowly elliptic, posticous lip c. 10 x 10 mm, 4-lobed, lobes roughly 7 x 2.2-2.8 mm, narrowly spathulate, the two posticous lobes united for about 1/3 their length, cream, bearded at base with clavate hairs c. 0.1 mm long running down back of tube to point of insertion of stamens. Stamens 2, filaments c. 3-4 mm long, glabrous or with a few minute glandular hairs, anthers c. 2.8-3.5 mm long, well exserted; staminodes 2, c. 0.3-1 mm long, exserted. Stigma c. 6-12 mm long, well exserted. Style c. 16-18 mm long. Ovary c. 5 x 2 mm Capsules c. 10 x 3.5 mm Seeds c. 0.8 x 0.5 mm.
