Zaluzianskya crocea Schltr.

Annual herb, stems c. 30-120 mm long, primary one simple, erect, soon branching from the base or a little higher, branches often simple, occasionally sparingly branched, decumbent, very minutely glandular, coarse patent acute hairs up to 1-1.5 mm long as well, moderately leafy. Leaves 7-25 x 3-10 mm, spathulate, subacute, upper margins usually with 2-3 pairs of teeth, lowermost pair of leaves sometimes subentire, both surfaces thinly villous or hairs nearly confined to margins, hairs up to 3 mm long particularly on lower margins, very minutely glandular as well. Flowers in dense terminal spikes often accounting for ± 2/3 total stem length, open in sunshine. Bracts adnate to calyx for 2.5-4 mm, lowermost 9-17 x 3.2-7 mm, 2-3 times as long as broad, leaf-like but often hairier, hairs up to 1.5-4 mm long. Calyx 6-7 mm long, lips 2 mm long, minutely glandular, coarse patent acute hairs up to 1-2 mm long particularly on ribs and at tips. Corolla tube 18-32 mm long (throat c. 1.5 mm in diam.), glandular-puberulous, hairs up to c. 0.15 mm long, limb 8-11 mm in diam., regular, mouth somewhat thickened, encircled by stiff ± acute hairs, lobes 3-4 x 3-4 mm, spathulate, apex ± rounded to slightly retuse, white above fading to pinkish-mauve, yellow very short-rayed 'star' around mouth fading to orange/red, coppery-orange below. Stamens 4, anticous pair well exserted, anthers 1-1.25 mm long, posticous pair included, anthers 1.5-2.5 mm long. Stigma 14 mm long, just reaching mouth or shortly exserted. Style c. 14-27 mm long. Ovary c. 2-3 x 0.8-1.2 mm. Capsules 4.5-7 x 24 mm. Seeds c. 0.8-1 x 0.5-0.6 mm, slightly angled, colliculate, greyish-mauve.
