Perennial herb with woody roots 5 mm. thick and tufted habit.. Stems erect or decumbent, up to 4.5 dm. long, shortly pilose, glabrescent towards the base.. Leaves 2-foliolate; leaflets oblong-elliptic, up to 32 × 8 mm., shortly apiculate, sparsely pilose, especially on the margins, glandular-punctate on both surfaces; lowest leaves unknown.. Stipules narrowly lanceolate, up to 22 mm. long.. Bracts ovate, acute, as long as or slightly longer than the internodes, beset with punctate glands and shortly and inconspicuously pilose.. Flowers as long as or slightly longer than the bracts.. Calyx ± 3.5 mm. long.. Petals yellow with “dark” veins on the standard, which is up to 8(–10) mm. long.. Legume up to 10 mm. long and 5-seeded; segments 2 × 2 mm., glabrous, without or with a few vestigial bristles.
