Densely tufted perennial.. Stems erect, arising among burnt-off bases of previous seasons’ stems, up to 4 dm. long, glandular-punctate.. Leaves 2-foliolate; leaflets obliquely linear-elliptic, acute, glabrous, densely glandular-punctate on both surfaces, the largest occurring about the middle of the stem, up to 38 × 6 mm.. Stipules lanceolate, up to 12 mm. long.. Bracts ovate, acute, shorter than the internodes, densely beset with punctate glands, glabrous.. Flowers as long as the bracts.. Calyx ± 3.5 mm. long.. Petals yellow; standard up to 8 mm. long.. Legume up to 17 mm. long and 6-seeded; segments 2.5 × 3 mm., without bristles, shortly pubescent, densely glandular-punctate.
