Perennial herb with prostrate pilose stems up to 5 dm. long, radiating from a central rootstock.. Leaves normally 2-foliolate; leaflets of upper leaves obliquely ovate, up to 20 × 10 mm., rather obtuse, sparsely pilose above, glandular-punctate on both surfaces; those of lower leaves similar but smaller.. Stipules ovate-lanceolate, up to 10 mm. long.. Bracts ovate, scarcely acute, usually slightly longer than the internodes, beset with rather inconspicuous glands, glabrous.. Flowers longer than the bracts.. Calyx ± 4.0 mm. long.. Petals yellow, up to 11 mm. long.. Legume up to 13 mm. long, glabrous, 5(–6)-seeded; segments 2 × 2mm., without bristles,glabrous.
