Characteristics

Scandent woody liane. Leaves opposite or 3-whorled; lamina elliptic to elliptic-oblong, to 110 mm long, to 40 mm wide, cuneate, not revolute, acute to shortly acuminate, discolorous; secondary venation with 37–45 veins visible. Inflorescence dichasially branched. Flowers 3–4 mm long, 2.5–4 mm diam. Sepals lanceolate to lanceolate-ovate, 1.7–2.5 mm long. Corolla cream-yellow; tube 2.5–3 mm long, 1–1.2 mm diam.; lobes lanceolate, 1.4–2.5 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide. Stamens inserted c. 1 mm from top of tube. Fruit comprising a single article, cylindrical-oblong, 17–21 mm long, 11–13 mm diam., yellow when ripe.
