Corolla tube 11–18 mm. long, slender, slightly inflated in the lower third, outer surface pubescent above the level of the calyx with indumentum continuing briefly onto each lobe in a narrow median line, inner surface glabrous; corolla lobes shorter than to equalling tube, narrowly elliptic with acute apex, ciliate with crispate white hairs.
A creeper. It can grow 20 m long. It can be 15 cm around. The leaves are rough and paler underneath. The leaf blade is 7-11 cm long by 3-6 cm wide. They are oval. The flowers are white or green. They have a sweet scent. The fruit are 4 cm across. The are almost round and orange. The seeds are 8-12 mm long.
Upper leaf surface mat or glossy, fairly densely to sparsely pubescent, with midrib impressed, other nerves level; lower surface mat, sparsely pubescent to subglabrous, midrib and lateral nerves raised, reticulation raised or level; venation with lateral nerves well spaced, curving towards leaf apex.

Calyx c. 4 mm. long, lobes narrowly triangular, united at the base, dorsally densely ferrugineous appressed-pubescent.
Stamens inserted 3–3·5 mm. from the base of the corolla tube; anthers subsessile, 1–1·5 mm. long.
